Jennie Lyn Thompson

Jennie Thompson, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away, Monday, November 6, 2023, at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville.

She was born April 26, 1935, in Holton, Indiana, the daughter of Ray S. and Marian F. (Huntington) Huelson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Mark W. “Brownie” Brown and Scot W. “Scotty” Brown; grandson, J.T. Humphrey; and sister, Martha Ford.

In 1953, Jennie graduated from Versailles High School.  She received her associates degree in nursing  from Bethesda Nursing School in 1956.

Jennie was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church.

She was an office nurse for Drs. Tower and Moheban.  She then worked on the OB unit at Major Hospital, working for 45 years before retiring.

Jennie enjoyed reading and going to yard sales on Saturday mornings.

She loved her babies at Major Hospital

Graveside services will be at 11:30 am, Monday, November 13, 2023, at Forest Hill Cemetery, 704 Morris Avenue in Shelbyville, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
