Jenny Ann Bowman, 70, of the Ellettsville-Bloomington area, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 of renal failure in Bloomington, IN.
She was born September 27, 1942 in Indianapolis, and she was formerly married to Doyne "Butch" McMahan and Gordon E. Overton (deceased).
She is survived by five children: Amy (Ralph) Stoos, Deron (Katrina) Overton, Jason (Trenia) Overton, Carrie (fiance Joe) Rivera, and Jody (Steven) Black; as well as 13 grandchildren: Jonathan Stoos, Adam Stoos, Erich Stoos, Robert Goldman, Jordon Overton, Ethon Overton, Nathon Overton, Isabelle Overton, Christin Overton, Benjamin Overton, Katherine Rivera, Rosalie Black, and Charles Black.
A true educator most of her life, with a bachelors, masters, and EDs in Language Education, she taught at Decatur Central, Mooresville High, Perrysville Grade School, as well as IUPUI, Vincennes Univ, Univ of Indianapolis, Ivy Tech, and Indiana University.
She raised cantaloupes, watermelons, and pumpkins on the Overton Farm from 1965-1995.
She enjoyed her time spent with family, friends, and neighbors, and adored moments with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3-6 pm on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 Monday, December 31, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
