Jerritt D. Borden, 58, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville.
He was born May 10, 1955, in Indianapolis, to Merritt Arthur and Martina Marie “Marge” (Hill) Borden. He married Sandra K. “Sandy” Mathies on August 19, 1999, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother of Shelbyville; daughter, Audrey Green and fiancé, John Fallon, of Noblesville; son, Dustin Green of Shelbyville; grandson, Isaac Pittman of Noblesville; and his Mathies family.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Jerritt was a lifelong Shelby County resident and graduated from Triton Central High School in 1973.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
Jerritt was a farmer and heavy equipment operator for Mohr Excavation and Drainage.
He was a member of the Beef Cattlemen’s Association and social member of Knights of Columbus. In his youth, he was a member of Future Farmers of America (FFA) and 4-H.
Jerritt was an avid lover of NASCAR, he enjoyed watching Dale Earnhardt Sr., Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his children, grandson and granddog, Apollo.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
