Jerry Allen "Pidge" Sever, 54, of Fairland, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born April 29, 1959, in Indianapolis, the son of James Hodges and Shirley (Mann) Boyd. On July 10, 1981, he married Donna Butcher, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother of Indianapolis; sons, James (wife, Amanda) Sever of Whiteland and Dalton Sever of Fairland; siblings, James (wife, Liz) Hodges, Rick Sever, John Hodges and Brenda (Eddie Grider) Hodges, all of Indianapolis; father-in-law, Zibe Butcher of Kemah, Texas; mother-in-law, Kathryn L. Mandrell of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Jerry graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis in 1977.
He was a member of Faith Trinity Church.
Jerry worked at Kline’s Quality Water delivering bottled water for 24 years.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, attending church and spending time with his family and friends.
Jerry leaves behind his dog, Abby.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at Faith Trinity Church, 505 W. Pennsylvania St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Perry Fouts officiating.
Interment will be in New Crown Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
