Jessie V. Warf Davis, 89, of Columbus passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
A homemaker and former seamstress. Mrs. Davis was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Morristown and had been very active in church activities. She enjoyed crafts, painting and spending time with her family.
She had lived in Columbus the past four years and was formerly of Morristown and Shelbyville.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, with the Rev. Matthew Smith officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery.

Born in Franklin, Tennessee, April 7, 1919, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of Oscar H. and Minnie I. Fox Warf. She married James H. Davis November 18, 1934. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2003.
Survivors include children, Mike Davis of Greenfield, Norm Davis of Muncie, Tom (Fabienne) Davis of Deerfield Beach, Florida, Frank (Martha) Davis of Lexington, N.C., Carl Davis of Indianapolis, Merle (Belinda) Davis of Fishers, Sue (Ron) Adams and Dorothy (Bob) Pickett, both of Columbus, Bill (Marcia) Davis and Bob (Rose) Davis, both of Shelbyville, Ann (John) Phares of Hickory, N.C., Marie Evans of Homosassa, Florida and Betty (Jack) Battaglia of Reedville, Virginia; 34 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four great-great granchildren; brothers, Wendell Warf of Eagleville, Tennessee, Alvin Warf of Anaheim, California, James Warf of Hinton, West Virginia, and Billy Warf of Smyrna, Tennessee; and sisters, Cora Epps of Nolensville, Tennessee, Betty Jean Phipps of LaVergne, Tennessee, Myrtle Ruth Henry of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Ila Pewitt of Franklin, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ollie Mae Poteet and Eunice Barnes; a brother Oscar "Brother" Warf, and grandsons, Anthony Davis, Brian Davis, Tommy Pickett and Nathan Smith.
