John Michael Alexander

John Michael Alexander, 58, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at Major Hospital. Born January 4, 1955, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Walter M. and Betty S. Alexander. He married Vicki Burns on June 19, 1998, and she survives. Other survivors include his parents of Shelbyville; daughters, Rhiannon (husband, Bryan) Price of Woodbridge, Virginia, Amy (husband, Josh) Butler of Indianapolis, Amber (husband, Mike) Huseman and Heather (husband, AJ) Phelps, both of Shelbyville and Nikki (husband, Joel) Reitz of Greenwood; sisters, Jean Teal of Shelbyville and Jane (husband, Dan) Runshe of Waldron; grandchildren, Drew and Evan Price, Logan, Mackenzie and Aubrey Butler, Jaxon Huseman, Ethan and Ava Reitz, AJ III, Dylan and Joshua Phelps. John graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1973. His family was very special to him. John was a NASCAR fan and loved to cook. Friends may gather from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, 124 W. Broadway St. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Indiana Chapter, 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240 or American Liver Foundation, 921E. 86th St., #150, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240.
