John William Tuley

August 22, 1914 — August 21, 2007

John William Tuley, 92 of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Major Hospital. Born Auugst 22, 1914, in Rush County, he was the son of Henry C. and Jennie (Fishback) Tuley. He married Lenora Lucas on August 19, 1945, and she survives. Other survivors include his son, Mark James (wife, Susan) Tuley of Mount Auburn; brother, Robert Tuley of Shelbyville; sister, Eva June Greenfield of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Anna Tuley and Rain Tuley, both of Mount Auburn. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Richard Allen Tuley and Hugh Earl Tuley; sisters, Katherine Riley, Grace Kehrt, Helen Keiffer and Alice Blocher; and brothers, Charles Tuley, Billy James Tuley and Jack Tuley. Mr. Tuley was employed with General Electric Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1978. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of corporal. Mr. Tuley attended Milroy High School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the 40&8. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2007 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home,with the Rev. Dan McCollough officiating. Interment will be in Layton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IN or the donor's favorite charity.
