Joseph Alan “Joe” Burdine, 54, of Avon, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at his residence.
He was born December 3, 1960, in Indianapolis, the son of John R. and Sudie C. (Baker) Burdine.
Joe is survived by his companion of 19 years, Lori Leigh of Avon; daughters, Angela Carlyle and husband, Evan, of Seattle, Washington , Leslie Burdine of Indianapolis and Shawna Leigh of Avon; sons, Zach Burdine and finance’, Kelsey Ransom, of Indianapolis and Matthew Bogue of Indianapolis; brothers, Doug Burdine and wife, Dawn, of Cumberland, John Burdine and wife, Venessa, and Tim Burdine, both of Fairland; sisters, Gwen Keene of Phoenix, Arizona and Brenda Utz and husband, Andy, of Pickerington, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Joe graduated from Triton Central High School.
He was a millwright for RSR Quemetco for 10 years and Omni Source for six years.
Joe enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing and hunting. He also liked to watch NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
