Joyce Ann Sexton

Joyce Ann Sexton, 71, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. She was born February 8, 1947, in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of William and Emma (Turpin) Brown. On May 15, 1970, she married Kenneth Lee Sexton, and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2013. Joyce is survived by her son, Kenneth Edward Sexton and wife, Kelly, of Fairland; daughters, Drucinda Jean Sexton and Betty Sue Sexton, both of Indianapolis; sister, Betty Judd and husband, Forrest, of Indianapolis; brothers, David Brown and wife, Dora, of Coal City, Michael Brown and wife, Sandy, of Indianapolis, and Ivan Brown and wife, Gina, of Cloverdale; brother-in-law, Larry Calhoun of South Pittsburgh, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Andrew Sexton and girlfriend, Duranda Watson, Victoria Sexton, Elizabeth Sexton, Jessica Pletz and Katherine Sexton. In addition to Kenneth, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Roger Lee Brown; and sister, Carolyn Calhoun. Joyce was a 1965 graduate of Harry Wood High School in Indianapolis. She retired from Sexton Food Company, with 24 years of service. Joyce enjoyed reading and loved to spend time with her family. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 11 am Friday, November 16, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
