Judy Ison Jessup, 65, of Marklesville, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis.
She was born February 9, 1951, in Wise County, Virginia, the daughter of James B. and Stella Mae (Jones) Ison. She married Michael Dean Jessup of July 28, 2014, and he survives.
Judy is also survived by daughters, Charity Gong, and Christian Reger and husband, Marty, both of Greenfield, Cheri Azevedo and husband, Jeremy, of Maxwell, California and Cyndy Sevier and husband, David, of Carmel; son, Zachery Meeks of Albany; brothers, James Ison and wife, Darlene, of Trafalgar, Ronnie Ison and wife, Penny, Buford Ison, and Timothy Ison and wife, Ami, all of Spencer, and Larry Ison and wife, Gail; sisters, Carla Gaalema and husband, Steve, of Greenwood, Patricia Lieber of Carmel, and Rita Montgomery of Gosport; grandchildren, Timothy Harris, Stella Gong, Hattie Reger, Hannah Azevedo and Hollie Azevedo; family friend, Barbara Rennerd of Spencer and many nieces, nephew, and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
Judy graduated from Northwest High School in 1969, and received her nursing degree from Marion General College.
She formerly owned Grandpa’s Candy Stores in Carmel, Noblesville and Broad Ripple. She also formerly was a waitress at Carol’s Cornerstone Café and the Riley House in Greenfield.
Judy was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars in English Avenue and the American Legion Auxiliary in Greenfield.
She loved to ride Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was a great cook.
Judy also leaves behind her dog, Fawn.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
