Julia Ann Burch, age 79, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Waldron Health and Rehab.
Born April 17, 1932, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Raleigh Elwood and Lona (Flick) Cox. She married James L. Burch on June 25, 1955, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2005.
Survivors include her sons, Gerald Burch of Manilla and James Aaron Burch of Shelbyville; daughter, Sandra Sue (husband, Sam) Horn of Pilgrims Knob, Virginia; brothers, Raleigh E. (wife, Mahalia) Cox of Rushville and Bill (wife, Karen) Cox of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Heather (husband, P.J.) Vaught, Zachariah (wife, Novie) Baird, Autumn (husband, Dan) Stone, Donald Baird, Brandon (wife, Briana) Burch and Michael Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Molly, Grace and Anna.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Roy Cox, Charles Cox, Robert Paul Cox and Richard T. Cox; and sisters, Cathy Cox, Mary Lou Brown, Georgina Pogue, Virginia Williams and Thelma Keppel.
Mrs. Burch was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she was the custodian, retiring in 1993.
She graduated from Waldron High School in 1950.
Mrs. Burch loved to sew, bake and cook.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Shelbyville Ward, 114 W. Rampart Road in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm at the church, with Bishop Gary Fuller, Ray Brewer and Jeff Montgomery officiating.
Interment will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
