Julian Wiley, 60 of Shelby County passed away July 31, 2007 at his home. Born September 13, 1946 to Estice L. Wiley and Marian E. Thorp Wiley. He married Carol A. Riemenschneider on August 6, 1978, she preceded him in death on February 13, 2007. Survivors include Melissa (husband, Robert DiBlasi) Wiley of Chicago, Illinois and Melanie (husband, Jonathan Bachmeyer) Wiley of Cincinnati, Ohio and brother-in-law Joe Riemenschneider of Shelbyville, Indiana. He also was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Nelson Glenn Wiley. Mr. Wiley was a lifelong farmer and employed at Shelby County Co-op. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard. Mr. Wiley graduated from Southwestern High School in 1964 and earned a bachelor of arts degree in agriculture engineering from Purdue University, where he was in the Purdue Marching Band. He was a lifetime member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, where he was a deaconand had played the organ for more than 30 years; and a member of the Shelby Community Band. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bryan Trotter officiating. Interment will be in Van Pelt Cemetery in Shelby County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma societies, in care of Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Chapels, 819 S. Harrison St.
