Kandy Lyn McQueary

Kandy Lyn McQueary, 31, of Shelbyville went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Major Hospital. Born June 21, 1980, in Mt. Kisco, New York, she was the daughter of Richard McQueary and Joanne (Martinez) McQueary Rood. Survivors include her mother and step-father, Joanne and Joe Rood of Shelbyville; brothers, Terry McQueary of Shelbyville and Richard McQueary II of Columbus; sisters, Nicole McQueary and Kerra Rood, both of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Kandy was a daycare assistant at Nana's Playhouse, she had also worked at Shares, Inc. in Shelbyville and Greenfield. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1998. Kandy was a member of First Church of God. She enjoyed getting together with her friends, dancing, bowling, camping and going out for Diet Coke. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 7 pm, Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastors Bryan Justice and Mary Popplewell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kandy McQueary Memorial Fund, in care of Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
