Karen R. Caturano, 67, long-time resident of Ocala, Florida passed away peacefully at her home on February 3, 2008.
She was 67 years old. Born and raised in Indiana she attended Purdue University on a 4-H Club sholarship where she was awarded Bachelors and Masters degrees in Home Economics and education.
Since moving to Ocala she was a faculty member at Golden Hills Academy and later worked as a Home Economicist for the Ocala Electric Utility where she was known as Penny Power.
Later she was owner manager of Affairs by Karen a catering and social affairs management services located in the cascades business complex. She was a photo naturalist Photographer and won the Peoples Magazine Award in 2002.
She was a member of a number of bridge clubs, enjoyed entertaining and was a much-loved hostess especially by those neighbors who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years Carlo Caturano, ID, four grandchildren and numberous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Hiers Funeral Home, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala with Rev. Donald N. Dinl, officiating, visitation will be Wednesday, 5-7 p.m.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 10 a.m., Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, Indiana is handling the local arrangements.
