Karen Sue Hoyt

Karen S. Hoyt, 59, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at IU Health Methodist in Indianapolis. She was born September 4, 1961, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Harry and Erma (Rutherford) DeVault. Karen is survived by her daughter, Ellen Hoyt of Shelbyville; son, Matthew Hoyt of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Gavin Hoyt, Kaymri Hoyt and Levi Hoyt. She was preceded in death by her parents. Karen graduated in 1979 from North Decatur High School. She formerly worked in customer service. Karen enjoyed creating craft projects, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dog, Sadie. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
