Kathryn L. Buxton

Kathryn L. Buxton, 92, of Waldron, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Waldron Health Care Home, in Waldron. Born July 20, 1913, in Geneva, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Cecil (Mount) Goodwin. She married Robert D. Buxton on July 9, 1936, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1995. Survivors include one daughter, Sue Anne (husband, Harold) Ward of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Pauline Gregory of Shelbyville; three grandchildren, Ronda Luh, Sandra Luh and Christopher Murray; and two great-grandchildren, Brittani Booker and Brittera Booker. She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Gertrude McKee, Viola Hopkins and one infant sister; and one brother, Lonnie Goodwin. Mrs. Buxton was a homemaker and previously had been employed at the former Waldron Canning Factory. She was a 70-year member of Waldron United Methodist Church and the women?s society at the church; and had been active in the Waldron PTA. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ron Lawhead officiating. Interment will be in VanPelt Cemetery, in Shelby County.
