Kathryn L. O'Neal

Kathryn L. O'Neal, 85, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. Born July 12, 1925, in Madison, Indiana, she was the daughter of Ed and Emma Louise (Wetzel) Stephan. She married James B. O'Neal on September 10, 1947, and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1999. Survivors include her sons, James S. (wife, Nancy) O'Neal of Greenwood, Patrick L. (wife, Lynne) O'Neal of Richmond and Michael (wife, Jamie) O'Neal of Dublin, California; daughter, Sylvia L. Lawson of Geneva; brother, William F. Stephan of Madison; grandchildren, Erin Roesch, Amber Sagardia, J. Patrick O'Neal, Mary E. O'Neal, Abby O'Neal, Justin O'Neal, Jared O'Neal, Joshua O'Neal and Joseph O'Neal; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Edward Stephan and three infant siblings. Mrs. O'Neal had been a Shelbyville resident for approximately 52 years. She formerl had owned the Lucky 7 Cafe' on Miller Avenue. Mrs. O'Neal had attended West Street United Methodist Church. She was a former member of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed her grandchildren and cooking, she was an avid reader. Mrs. O'Neal graduated from North Madison High School in 1942. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 7 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at 1 pm, Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Fairmount Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
