Kathy J. Groves

Kathy J. Groves, 65, of Fishers, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel.

She was born April 27, 1957, in Rushville, the daughter of T S and Marie Eileen (Ramsey) Macy.  On January 6, 1984, she married Dean Errol Groves and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2006.

Kathy is survived by her sons, Matthew Groves and wife, Rebecca, of Carmel, and Nathan Groves and wife, Andrea, of Indianapolis; sister, Lois Macy of Fishers; grandchildren, Spencer, Levi, Macy and one on the way, Wyatt; sister-in-law, Jane Macy of Shelbyville; and nephew, Tom Macy of Shelbyville.

In addition to Dean, Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Steven Earl Macy.

Kathy graduated in 1975 from Morristown High School.

She was a member of Little Blue River Friends Church, and had attended Westfield Friends Church.

Kathy was employed at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, where she worked in the insurance department.

She loved to quilt and was a member of “Material Girls” a quilt guild in Shelbyville.

Kathy enjoyed her grandchildren and had made each one a quilt.

A Gathering of Friends will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

A Celebration of Kathy’s life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

Private inurnment will be at Little Blue River Friends Cemetery at a later date.
