Kenneth Paxton Jr., 64, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006.
Born June 3, 1942, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Kenneth and Evelyn (Gunning) Paxton. He married Sarah Wilhoit on June 19, 1964, and she survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Debra (husband, Charles) Helfer, Theresa (husband, Kevin) Hopper, Angela (husband, Gary) Badgley and Kimberly (husband, Jay) Paxton Young, all of Shelbyville; one sister, Susie Woolman of Shelby County; four grandchildren, Andrew Helfer, Eryn Hopper, Zack Hopper and Logan Paxton Young; four stepgrandchildren, Nicole Pike, Jessica Tucker, Jessika Young and Joshua Young; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Makinsi Pike, Kameron Tucker and Alexys Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Jean Sprong; and grandmother, Carrie Galliniore Gunning.
Mr. Paxton was a lifelong Shelbyville resident.
He was the owner and operator of Kenneth Paxton Trucking Co. Inc. for 48 years.
Mr. Paxton was a member of First Christian Church and Eagles Lodge.
He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting and being with his family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Snyder Cemetery in Shelby County.
