Kim Michael Garlitch, 48, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born July 16, 1957, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Kenneth Verl and Mae Ellen (Buchanan) Garlitch.
Survivors include one sister, Neva (husband, Kenneth) Peavler of Greenwood; one brother, Roger Kent (wife, Pamela) Garlitch of Lake City, Minn.; two granddaughters, Emily Dawn Root of Greensburg and Jillian Makenna Garlitch of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ty Michael Garlitch; and two brothers, Kenneth Allen Garlitch and Randall Keith Garlitch.
Mr. Garlitch had been a pressman for Kueneg, Bauer and Egnoff in Indianapolis and then employed with Ford and Chrysler. He retired in 1994 after an automobile accident and later had a booth at Trader Baker Flea Market.
He graduated in 1976 from Shelbyville High School and attended Lincoln Technical Institute.
Mr. Garlitch was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge.
He had been an avid softball player and president of Man Love Park Board. After 1994, he was a score keeper for softball leagues at Kennedy Park for several years.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St. and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Grace Wesleyan Church, 56 E. Franklin St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
