Larry M. Blaich, 73, a lifelong resident of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at Major Hospital in Shelbyville.
He was born April 19, 1941, in Shelbyville, the son of Morris and Bernice (Stafford) Blaich. He married Donna Clark on March 29, 1985, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughters, Anne Van Wormer and husband, Derek, of Ellenton, Florida, Erika McComas, Nicole Alvis and husband, Patrick and Katie Browning, all of Shelbyville; son, Brad Blaich and wife, Pamela, of South Lebanon, Ohio; and grandchildren, Dakota Van Wormer, Callie Van Wormer, Taylor Blaich, Dylan Blaich, Meagan Linville and husband, Tate, Courtney Paul and Austin Paul.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Michael Blaich.
Larry graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1959.
He was an active member of Shelbyville Community Church and Fraternal Order of Police.
Larry served as an Indiana State Police Trooper for 34 years, retiring in 1998. After retirement, he worked at Culpepper and Kustom Kourier.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
Larry loved spending time with family and friends. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed the outdoors.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the funeral home, with Pastor Brad Davis officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
