Laura E. Tannehill, 87, of Fairland, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Major Hospital.
Born September 13, 1924 in Meigs County, Ohio, she was the daughter of James and Velena (Ellis) Woodard. She married John William Tannehill on August 5, 1972, and he survives.
Other survivors include her sisters, Elizabeth Fuller of Lexington, Ohio and Mary Ellen Woodard of Whitehall, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Woodard, James Woodard and Ervin Woodard; and an infant sister, Dortha Woodard.
Prior to marrying and becoming a homemaker Mrs. Tannehill worked at Buckeye Insurance, Yeager Machinery and National Jersey Cattle Club.
She graduated from Rio Grande High School in Rio Grande, Ohio
Mrs. Tannehill was a member of Fairland United Methodist Church, she loved her Lord and her friends and family will miss her lovely smile and genuine friendliness.
She was also a member of Gideon Auxiliary where she served at the local camp, was a 50 year member of the Central Ohio Hiking Club and a Home Economic Club.
Mrs. Tannehill enjoyed her home, church, traveling and loved her dogs.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Fairland United Methodist Church, 205 W. Washington Street in Fairland.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Thursday at the church, with Rev. Susan Davis officiating.
Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery.
