Lawrence W. Brown, 76, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Major Hospital. Born January 27, 1933 in Orange County, Indiana, he was the son of Ertle and Ruth (Bogue) Brown. He married Lois Kuhn on July 21, 1953, and she survives. Other survivors include daughters, Teresa (husband, Bill) Price of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Debbie (husband, Les) Slusser and Sherry Parton, both of Shelbyville; Doug and Jill Slusser of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Elizabeth Price Boaz, Brian Slusser, Russell Price, Catherine Parton, Beth Martin, Beth Slusser (husband, Jason) Chaney and Katelyn Slusser; great-grandchildren, Sarah Boaz, Drew Slusser, Jacob Slusser, Allison Chaney, Adam Chaney and Eli Slusser. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Brown was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Amtrak in 1995. Mr. Brown was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and his grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Corlis Dees II officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 6100 W. 96th St., Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46278; or American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.
