Lenora M. Tuley, 91, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Lenora was born July 10, 1921 in Brown County. She was the daughter of Isaac and Geneva (Helms) Lucas. She married her husband of 62 years, John William Tuley on August 19, 1945, and he preceded her in death on August 21, 2007.
Survivors include her son, Mark James (wife, Susie) Tuley of Edinburgh; brothers, Dr. Edgar Lucas of Fort Worth, Texas and James Lucas of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Anna Tuley and Rain Tuley.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Hugh Earl Tuley; step-son, Richard Allen Tuley; brothers, Rondal Lucas, Perry Lucas, Kenneth Lucas and Jack Lucas.
Lenora graduated from Carthage High School in 1939.
She retired from Wellman/General Electric Corporation in 1983, after 19 years of service.
Mrs. Tuley was a member of First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed attending Bible classes and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading, fishing and cooking for her friends and family.
Lenora also leaves behind her dog, Tippy.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the funeral home, with Pastor David Love officiating.
Interment will be in Layton Cemetery in Rush County.
