Leroy Emory Michaels, 59, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at his residence.
He was born April 30, 1955, in Elwood, the son of Floyd and Betty (Brown) Michaels.
Leroy is survived by his sons, Christopher Mahon of Shelbyville and Andrew Michaels of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Jamie Mahon Self and husband, Kenneth, of Indianapolis; mother of his children and best friend, Shirley Michaels of Shelbyville; ten grandchildren; five sisters; one brother; and one step-brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Dylan Joel Mahon Smith.
Leroy was a veteran of the Army National Guard.
He owned and operated Trimline Painting.
Leroy enjoyed going to cafés, 1960s music, old cars, shooting pool, dancing and skating.
He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leroy Emory Michaels Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
