Letha M. (Yantiss) Hester

Letha M. (Yantiss) Hester, 91 of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at her home. Born October 1, 1916, in Marshall County, she was the daughter of J. Glen and Oda Othal (Buckler) Yantiss. She married Carl R. Hester on January 14, 1939, and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1975. Survivors include her daughter, Judith Hester (husband, James) Schulthies of Shelbyville; brother, Kenneth D. Yantiss of Waldron; granddaughter, Sasha D. (husband, William) Stevens of Shelbyville; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Madison and Jessy. She also was preceded in death by her parents and son, Brian Dale Hester. Mrs. Hester was a homemaker. She graduated in 1934 from Mentone High School. Mrs. Hester was a member of First United Methodist Church, Your Friends and Mine, and a garden club. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Campbell. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
