Lewis E. Weaver

Lewis E. Weaver, 66 of Shelbyville died Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at Major Hospital. Born May 12, 1941, in Hope, he was the son of Earl L. and Helen M. (Burnes) Weaver Jr. He married Phyllis O'Bannon on December 9, 2000, and she survives. Other survivors include his mother of Shelbyville; sons, Greg E. (wife, Kathy) Weaver, Jeff E. (wife, Barbara) Weaver and Todd E. Weaver, all of Shelbyville; stepson, Kevin McColley of Shelbyville; stepdaughters, Lisa McColley of Sarasota, Fla., Pam Fagel of Shelbyville and Marjorie Ratliff of Beech Grove; brothers, Bob (wife, Kathy) Weaver of Grand Rivers, Ky., and Dick (wife, Rita) Weaver of Shelbyville; sister, Phyllis E. (husband, Ronald) Scott of Farmersburg; grandchildren, Whitney Weaver of Muncie, Adam Waver, Brandyn Weaver, Chelsea Weaver, Austin Hankins, Cameron Hankins, Kennedy Weaver, Kaine Weaver and Cale Weaver, all of Shelbyville; six stepgranchildren; one stepgreat-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Weaver was the fertizier manager of Royster Clark Agriculture Business in Bargersville until retiring in 2003. He also previously was employed Shelby County Co-Op. He graduated from Southwestern High School in 1959, where he played basketball and named the most valuable player in the Shelby County tournament in 1959. Mr. Weaver was a member of Bengal Christian Church; Shelbyville Moose Lodge No. 2118, where he served as past governor; Sons of the Legion American Post No. 70; Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 766; Knights of Columbus; and Northbranch Golf Course. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a Loyal Order of Moose service at 7:30 p.m., at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Dan Owens and Cliff Bunch officiating. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Moose Heart, with envelopes available at the funeral home and then at the Moose Lodge, 224 E. Jackson St.
