Lloyd Duane Conover, 68, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at his home.
Born June 8, 1939, in Shelby County, he was the son of Owen C.P. and Bonita (Poole) Conover. He married Patricia A. Plymate on August 1, 2007, after 38 years of companionship, and she survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Brian T. (wife, Terry) Conover and Brett C. Conover, both of Shelbyville; stepdaughters, Teresa Oeffinger and Kathy Berger, both of Shelbyville; stepson, Greg Martin of Orlando, Fla.; brothers, his twin Floyd W. Conover of Shelbyville and Kenneth Conover of Waldron; grandchildren Brian Lee Conover and Christopher Conover, both of Shelbyville; and stepgrandchildren, Travis Oeffinger, Britni Oeffinger, Rebecca Oeffinger and Cameron Berger, all of Shelbyville, Elizabeth and Andrew Joseph Martin, both of Orlando.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Donald L. Conover.
Mr. Conover was a self-employed carpenter, retiring in June of 2006. He also was a painter for Huber Brothers.
He graduated from Waldron High School in 1957.
Mr. Conover's hobbies included farming, raising livestock and watching wrestling and old cowboy movies.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Allan Springer officiating.
Interment will be in Miller Cemetery.
