Lloyd W. Stevens, 92, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Major Hospital.
Born Aug. 18, 1914, in Noble Township in Rush County, he was the son of Silverton Roscoe "Ross" and Alma (DeArmond) Stevens. He married Jeanette E. "Joy" Snider on Dec. 21, 1935, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 1992.
Survivors include his daughters, Sharon (husband, Stephan) Sever of Waldron and Pamela (husband, Roger) Washburn of Shelbyville; sister, Ruby (husband, Robert) Osborne of Glenwood; grandchildren, Steve Sever of Waldron, Anne Sever Dimitri of Indianapolis, Timothy L. Sever of Avon and Natalie Washburn of Evansville; and six great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lawrence E. Stevens.
Mr. Stevens spent the majority of his working years as a manager of First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Shelbyville, working there from July 1, 1952, to Dec. 31, 1985. Prior to that, he had been employed with the Internal Revenue Service.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with the Quartermaster Corps in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Stevens was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Elks Lodge and Shelby County Historical Society.
He loved golfing, music and video equipment and was a fisherman and hunter.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dennis Hirschauer officiating.
Interment will be in East Hill Mausoleum in Rushville.
