Lois Mae Brown, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at Morristown Manor in Morristown.
She was born April 25, 1934, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Russell and Gertie (McCalip) Kuhn. On July 21, 1953, she married her husband, Lawrence W. Brown, and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2009.
Lois is survived by her children, Teresa Price and husband, Bill, of Bloomington, Debbie Slusser and husband, Les, Sherry Parton, and Jill Slusser and husband, Doug, all of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Elizabeth McKnight and husband, Andy, Brian Slusser and wife, Beth, Russell Price and wife, Kitty, Catherine Parton, Beth Chaney, and Katelyn Reese and husband, Dennis; and great-grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, John, Drew, Jacob, Addison, Piper, Scout, William, Allison, Adam, Aiden, Eli and Landon.
In addition to Lawrence, Lois was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Baker; and brother, Jack Kuhn.
Lois graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1952, and Beauty College in 1960.
She owned and operated, Lois’ Beauty Shop, for 45 years, retiring in 2003.
Lois cherished her family, and especially enjoyed the time she spent with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed working word search puzzles.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
