Lorell Eugene Vanscoy, 66, of Shelbyville, passed away August 22, 2015, at his residence.
He was born May 2, 1949, in Rush County, the son of Henry Lee and Vera Lillian (Gahimer) Vanscoy.
Lorell is survived by his daughter, Barbara Stevens and husband, Tim, of Waldron; brother, Leroy Vanscoy and wife, Lillian; twin grandchildren, Karman Stevens, and Kyle Stevens and wife, April; and great-grandson, Liam Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Beverly Ann Vanscoy, Sharon Lee Meredith and Priscilla Ellen Smiley.
Lorell graduated from Waldron High School in 1967.
He was a US Army veteran, serving in Vietnam.
Lorell formerly worked at Ray Envelope in Indianapolis, as a machinist, with over 20 years of service.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Lorell enjoyed collecting records and was a disc jockey in the 1970s and 1980s.
Private family services will be observed.
