Loretta Mae Hallgarth, 75, of Morristown, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Major Hospital. She was born August 27, 1939, in Rush County, the daughter of Carl Nigh, Sr. and Louise (Logsdon) Nigh Rhodes. Loretta is survived by her mother of Rushville; daughters, Robin Ailes and husband, Evertt, of Fairland and Vicky Ailes and husband, Alvin, of Fountaintown; son, Kevin Hallgarth of Fountaintown; brothers, Carl Nigh, Jr. of Ventura, California and Dennis Rhodes and wife, Tena, of Rushville; sister, Rhonda Rodriguez of Rushville; grandchildren, Dawnyel Baldridge and husband, Chris, Evertt W. Ailes and wife, Kelly, Crystal Ailes and significant other, Bobby Baumann, and Brittney Hallgarth Skaggs and husband, Jason; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; and a son, Mark Allen Hallgarth. Loretta was a homemaker. She collected porcelain dolls. Loretta was an avid reader. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and number searches. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Joshua Hahn officiating. Interment will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
