Lucy L. Bell

Lucy L. Bell, 79, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born May 26, 1934, in Manchester, Kentucky, to Gilbert and Edna (Griffens) Jones. She married Walter R. Bell on September 26,1953, and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1998. Survivors include her sons, Farro Bell of Shelbyville, Jeffery Bell of Greenfield and Douglas (wife, Yolanda) Bell of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Sandra Bell of Shelbyville; brothers, Bobby Jones and Tommy (wife, Marty) Jones, both of New Castle and Bo Jones of Kentucky; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Walter Reed Bell II; and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Bell was a member of Shelbyville Community Church. She retired from General Electric, with over 20 year of service. Later, she worked in the cafeteria at Shelbyville schools. Mrs. Bell enjoyed reading and traveling to Tennessee. Private family services will be observed. Interment will follow at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
