Luther Jerry "Shoeman" Robinson

Luther Jerry “Shoeman” Robinson, 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born January 27, 1941, in Liberty, the son of Damon and Mary (Caskey) Robinson. He married Judith K. “Judy” Robinson in 1966, and she preceded him in death on September 20, 2010. Luther is survived by four sons, Randall F. Gibbs of Fairland, Jerry W. Robinson, David E. Robinson and Charles A. Robinson, all of Shelbyville; sister, Shirley Stills of Camden Point, Missouri; brother, Gene Robinson of Hamilton, Ohio; grandchildren, Brandon Gibbs of Fairland, Amber Newkirk and fiance’, Willie Ashley, of Crab Orchard, Kentucky and Kileen Slack of Shelbyville; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Lacy and Gracie; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Willie, Destiny and Cheyenne. He was also preceded in death by his mother in 1954; his father in 2010; and sister, Violet Tenalio. Luther owned and operated Jerry’s Shoe Repair from 1970 to 1995. He was a past member of ABATE, serving as the Region 13 President for five years. Luther enjoyed motorcycles, yard sales and flea markets. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
