M. Kathleen Burt

M. Kathleen (Hill) Burt, 81, of Linton, formerly of Shelby Co., peacefully passed into rest on June 20, 2010. Born July 30, 1928, in Rushville, to Clifford and Mabel (Dearinger) Hill. She married William N. Burt, Sr. on August 19, 1947, and he preceded her in death on October 27, 2006. She is survived by her seven children; Ann (husband, JD) Bullock of Norfolk, Virginia, Sue Burt of Hope, Janice Ledford of Shelbyville, Brenda (husband, Jody) Troiber and Pat Burt, both of Linton, William N. (wife, Carla) Burt, Jr. of Hope and Roger (wife, Sherri) Burt of Franklin; sister, Helen Snyder of Shelbyville; brother, Robert Hill of Waldron; 15 grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Glenna Crabb of Tuckerman, Arkansas and many more extended family members. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one grandson. Mrs. Burt was a homemaker. She graduated from Manilla High School in 1946. Mrs. Burt was a past member of Flat Rock Eastern Star and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Linton. She enjoyed crocheting and reading. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel in Shelbyville. An Eastern Star service and funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will be at Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
