Machelle Good

Machelle Good, passed unexpectedly on Monday, January 19, 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 65. She was born, October 31, 1949, in Fairland, the daughter of Harry and Lavinna Bayless. Survivors include her mother of Phoenix; brother, Joel Bayless of Phoenix; and a sister, Jennifer Bayless of Bethesda, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her father. Machelle graduated from Triton Central High School in 1967, where she developed her love for music as a member of the chorus and the band. She continued her pursuit of music throughout her life. Machelle graduated from Indiana State University in 1973, with a degree in piano performance and in 1984, she obtained her Master’s degree in music history from Butler University. She taught for Meridian Music for 25 years, sharing her love for music with her many students. Machelle was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church while living in Indianapolis and an active member of Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Phoenix. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
