Marcella Seybold Huckeby

December 30, 1921 — February 16, 2014

Marcella Seybold Huckeby, 92, of Shelbyville, passed away, Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Ashford Place Health Campus. She was born December 30, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Charles Wade and Mary (Vargo) Wade Stidham. She married Alexander A. Seybold on May 22, 1937, and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1978. She is survived by her daughter, Marcella G. “Marcy” Rees and husband, Jim, of Shelbyville; sons, Donald A. Seybold of West Lafayette, Dennis C. Seybold of Cahokia, Illinois and Daniel J. Seybold and wife, Kelli, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Stacey Hiller and husband, Kent, Matt Seybold and fiance’, Michelle, Seth Seybold and wife, Tosha, Jodi Seybold, Monique Seybold, Erin Clayton and husband, Josh, Adam Rees and wife, Luiza, Lauren Glasco and husband, Eric, Brittanny Seybold and partner, Stephen and Heather Seybold; great-grandchildren, Kyle Hiller, Alex Hiller, Marcy Hiller, Josh Hiller, Jack Seybold, Henry Clayton, Devlin Rosenfeld and Levi Rosenfeld. She was also preceded in death by her parents and half-sister, Vera Dean Stidham Wasmer Buckles. Marcy was a member of First Christian Church in Shelbyville and the Moose Lodge in Indianapolis. She retired as a bookkeeper from Marsh Supermarkets in 1983, and she worked at Paul’s Nursery for a number of years. After retirement, she was Tinkerbell the clown at Children’s Hospitals. Marcy enjoyed gardening, cooking, needle work and spending time with her family. A gathering of friends will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014 at First Christian Church, 118 W. Washington St in Shelbyville. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at the church, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating. Private committal service will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church.
