Marcia A. Perdue, 80, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Morristown Manor in Morristown.
She was born October 11, 1941, in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of William Dwight and Margaret (Meyer) Carey.
Marcia is survived by her sons, Rick Perdue and wife, Mandy of McCordsville, and Ryan Perdue and wife, Melissa, of Fishers; significant other, Kent Gordon of Morristown; brother, James Carey of California; twin sisters, Judy Smith and husband, Mike, of Troy, Ohio and Janet Wesco of Piqua, Ohio; five grandchildren, Logan and wife, Kate, Luke and wife, Chelsi, Lillie, Samantha and Parker; one great-grandchild, Eli.; four granddogs, Bowser, Remi, Mackey and Willa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marcia graduated in 1959 from Piqua High School. She continued her education for receiving her associates degree from Miami Jacobs Business College.
She formerly served as the City Engineer for the City of Greensburg, and was later a clerk of Shelby County Superior Court 1.
Marcia loved her family and cherished times when the family would gather. She was particularly fond of holidays, especially Christmas, when the house would fill with all the grandkids and granddogs. She had an appreciation for nature and all animals. Living on the outskirts of Morristown provided a perfect setting for her to see and interact with the woodland creatures daily.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jon Porter officiating.
Interment will be at Hanover Cemetery in Shelby County.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville-Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
