Margaret Louise Dewhurst, 72, of Shelbyville died Monday, May 7, 2007, at Major Hospital.
Born Oct. 12, 1934, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Harold F. and Pauline (Bradford) Stephens. She married Maurice A. Dewhurst Sr. on Feb. 10, 1956, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2005.
Survivors include her daughters, Jeanine (husband, John) Hash and Clarice Dewhurst, both of Shelbyville, and Rebecca (husband, Ed) Oldham of McMinnville, Tenn.; sons, Maurice A. Dewhurst Jr. and John Dewhurst of Shelbyville; sister, Janet Dillahay of Whitesprings, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Scott E. Dewhurst; and infant brother, Carl Stephens.
Mrs. Dewhurst had lived in Shelbyville for 25 years.
She was a homemaker and formerly employed at the Bluebird restaurant in Morristown, Morristown Manor and with the United States Postal Service.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hanover Cemetery in Morristown, with David Humphrey officiating.
Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown, is handling the arrangements.
