Margrét Lilja Wyrick, 88, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, October 23, 2020, at her home.
She was born June 12, 1932, in Reykjavík, Iceland, the daughter of Níls and Margrét Jóhanna ( Jónsdóttir ) Hansen. On June 21, 1971, she married John Joseph Wyrick, he proceeded her in death in April of 1990.
Margrét is survived by her sons, Michael Wayne Dailey and wife, Kimberly, and Ricky Lee Dailey and wife, Monica both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Christopher Michael Dailey, Johnathan Wayne Dailey, Noah Lee Dailey, Ricky Lee Dailey Jr. and Michelle Nicole Dailey, 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to John, Margrét was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jónína Soffía Hansen, Unnur ( Magnúsdóttir ) Clendening; brothers, Ólafur Þórir Hansen, Níls Hafsteinn Hansen, and a 3 week old infant brother.
She was formerly Senior Regent of the Women of the Moose, Auxiliary President of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2695, member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Red Hats Society, and the Cub Scout’s CIC Honor Unit.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2020, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Interment will be at Boggstown Cemetery in Boggstown.
