Marilyn E. Burks, 67, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.
She was born January 30, 1950, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Carrie (Hawkins) Murrell. On February 10, 1968, she married Floyd Burks, and he survives.
Marilyn is also survived by her sons, Lloyd Burks and wife, Tonya, and Domingo Burks, both of Shelbyville; daughter, Michelle Pogue of Shelbyville; sisters, Joyce Aulby, Alice Chance and Sharon Murrell, all of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Misty Powers, Ashley Johnson and Zach White; great-grandchildren, Hagen Shaw, Chase Reynolds and Orion Johnson; and numerous niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Archie Murrell, Elzy Murrell, Elmer Murrell and Robert Murrell; and sisters, Martha Holland and Dorothy Murrell.
Marilyn retired from Triumph Group in 2014, with 43 years of service.
She was a member of Eagles Aerie Lodge No. 766.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
