Marilyn Jean Ramsey, 86, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Morristown Manor in Morristown.
She was born July 6, 1930, in Rush County, the daughter of Ozro E. and Edna M. (Davis) McDaniel. She married James Russell Ramsey on June 5, 1948, and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1999.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Dwight Allen Ramsey and wife, Terry Kay, of Greenfield, and Gary Wayne Ramsey and wife, Cheryl, of Shelbyville; daughter, Cheryl Lynne Carter and husband, Lonnie, of Fountaintown; brother, Warren R. McDaniel and wife, Carol, of Shelbyville; sister, Carolyn R. Martin, of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Jason Ramsey of Denver, Colorado and Bruce Ramsey of Shelbyville; great-grandchildren, Jalaen, Jacob, Ashlyn and Mark; and several nieces and nephews
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Dean Ramsey; brother, Emerson D. McDaniel; and sister, Evelyn E. Anderson.
Marilyn graduated from Morristown High School in 1948.
She loved people, especially her family.
Marilyn retired from Morristown High School, as a cook, in 2002, with 31 years of service.
She loved to read and work crossword puzzles.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
