Marilyn M. Moore Hurt, 80, of San Antonio, Texas, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006.
Born May 12, 1926, in Fairland, she was the daughter of Frank and Madaline (Huber) Totten Sr. She married Harold "Moe" Moore, and he preceded her in death in February of 1965. She married William E. "Bill" Hurt in May of 1970, and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, Tom (wife, Julie) Moore of Clarksville; two daughters, Susan Burtner of Tacoma, Wash., and Christine Moore of Portland, Ore.; three stepdaughters, Kathryn (husband, Dan) Bottinelli of Colorado, Jean Hurt and Betty Jo Hurt, both of Indiana; one grandson, Christopher Burtner of Seattle, Wash.; one great-grandson, Gabriel Miller of Seattle.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John H. Totten, Frank S. Totten and Harry "Tom" Totten; and one sister, Madelyn S. "Mannie" Poland.
Mrs. Hurt lived in San Antonio for three years. Prior to that, she lived in Boca Raton from 1983 to 2003, in Fairland from 1926 to 1934 and in Indianapolis for most of her life.
She attended Butler University.
She had been employed in the restaurant business including as a catering manager at Holiday Inn East in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Hurt was active in the Presbyterian church in Indianapolis, Boca Raton and San Antonio.
She was an avid reader, fashion maven and a faithful friend.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary W. Huffman officiating.
Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery.
