Marjorie C. Sandefur, 93, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Heritage House of Shelbyville.
She was born September 10, 1921, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Raymond and Opal (Drake) Cutsinger. Marjorie married Loyd J. Sandefur on February 19, 1938, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1985.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole Dene Davis and husband, Jr., of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Denise Aldridge and husband, Joe, and David Lawson and wife, Anne, both of Shelbyville and Dana Zorn and husband, Pete, of Norton Shores, Michigan; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Marjorie graduated from Mt. Auburn High School.
She was an active member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, she enjoyed serving others and working at the Church tent during the Shelby County Fair to raise money for the church addition. She was also a member of Blue Chasers Card Club.
In the late 1930s Marjorie and her husband, Loyd, began with one baler, and later developed into D & S Sales and Service, with co-owners, Bob and Jane Duckworth. D & S Sales and Services was a Case and Massey Ferguson dealership serving Indiana and surrounding states from the 1940s through 1987.
Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at the funeral home, with Pastor Bryan Trotter and Rev. Robert Campbell officiating.
Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
