Marlene R. Yarling, 91, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, May 4, 2006.
Born Oct. 11, 1914, in Farmland, she was the daughter of Harry H. and Phoebe (Pegg) Fuller. She married Michael H. ?Mike? Yarling Sr. on Nov. 3, 1932, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 1987.
Survivors include four sons, Michael H. Yarling Jr., William R. (wife, Donna) Yarling, Mark L. Yarling and Raymond M. (wife, Frances) Yarling, all of Shelbyville; three daughters, Yannie (husband, Stanley) Spreckelmeyer and Brenda (husband, Doyle) Chaney, both of Shelbyville, and Nancy (husband, Mark) Beck of Boggstown; one sister-in-law, Pauline Callahan of Shelbyville; 43 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one nephew, Kenneth (wife, Velma) Drake; and one niece, Mary Hollingsworth.
Mrs. Yarling had been employed with J.C. Penney, Admiral Corp., Adams & Cramer law office, and retired in 1976 from the Indiana Employment Security Division. After retiring, she helped her husband farm.
She graduated in 1932 from Shelbyville High School.
Mrs. Yarling was the oldest member of Mount Pisgah Baptist church, where she had been a member since 1933; charter member of Eagle Women Auxiliary Lodge No. 766; and former member of Moose Lodge No. 2118.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robb L. Barlow officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
