Marlin Lee Smith, 87, of Arlington, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Morristown Manor in Morristown.
He was born May 1, 1935, in Gwynneville, the son of Roy Scott and Emily Myrtle (Bundy) Smith. On October 9, 1959, he married his wife of 63 years, Patricia Ann Hohn, and she survives.
In addition to Patricia, Marlin is survived by his sons, Kevin Smith and wife, Lisa, and Tim Smith and wife, Mechelle, both of Greenfield; daughter, Shelli Harris and husband, Steve, of Temple, Texas; sister, Loretta Garriot of Westfield; grandchildren, Brittany, Kara, Cameron and Cory; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Owen, Liam and Caden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and nine brothers and sisters.
Marlin graduated in 1953 from Greenfield High School.
He was a member of Arlington Christian Church.
Marlin was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Korean War, in Italy, Germany, El Salvadore and Portugal.
He retired in 2002, after owning and operating Access Engineering in Indianapolis, formerly E. I. Brown Engineering and Odle, McGuire and Shook Engineering.
Marlin was also an accomplished artist and attended John Heron School of Art. Where several of his paintings went on display to different art exhibits around the country.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Arlington Christian Church, 2341 N 700 W, Arlington, Indiana 46104.
Funeral services will at be 1 pm, Tuesday, at the church, with Gary Holt officiating.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Memorial contributions may be made to Arlington Christian Church.
