Martha “Alice” Conover, 82, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
She was born May 3, 1931, in Greensburg, the daughter of Henry Cloid and Fannie M. (Ayers) Long.
Survivors include her son, Charles R. Conover, Sr. of Indianapolis; sister, Jean Aldrich of Connersville; grandson, Charlie Conover of Shelbyville; great-grandson, Cory Conover of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Una Dalton of Shelbyville; and special friends, Kathy Hadley and Breanna Barrow, both of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Greg A. Conover and Richard D. Conover; and a brother, Harlan C. Long.
Alice was a member of First Baptist Church.
She retired from Cummins, after retirement she worked as a laundromat attendant at Coin Laundry.
Alice enjoyed crocheting and fishing.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 am, Friday, December 20, 2013 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 am, Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
