Martha Ann Holland

Martha Ann Holland, 51, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at her residence. Born February 16, 1960 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Fred and Carrie L. (Hawkins) Murrell. Survivors include her daughter, Nova Renee Holland of Shelbyville; son, Daniel Wayne Holland, Jr. of Fairland; brother, Robert Murrell of Shelbyville; sisters, Joyce A. Aulby, Marilyn E. Burks, Alice F. Chance and Sharon M. Murrell, all of Shelbyville; grandson, Jacob Vincent McFarland of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews including Michelle Pogue, who helped care for her. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Marie Murrell; and brothers, Elmer Murrell, Elzy Murrell and Archie W. Murrell. Mrs. Holland had been a CMM (coordinate measuring machine) operator at Triumph Fabricating since August 7, 1981. She also had tended bar for more than five years at Fraternal Order of Eagles, where she was a member. She graduated from Triton Central High School. Mrs. Holland enjoyed reading, bowling, golfing and co-ed softball. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. with funeral services there at 7 pm. Officated by Pastor Phillip Farnsley. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Association, 5635 West 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46278.
