Martha Jean Warble, 90, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville.
She was born February 22, 1929, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Orris and Hazel (Kaster) Kepley. On April 10, 1949, she married Jack Wesley Warble, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2012.
Martha is survived by her son, Michael Warble and wife, Karen, of Shelbyville; daughter, Ann Warble Haehl and husband, Robert, of Shelbyville; sister, Ruth Ann Hilton of Shelbyville; grandchildren, David Warble and wife, Betsy, Michelle Warble and husband, Daniel O’Connell, Michael Nienow and wife, Erika, Laura Bubalo and husband, Matthew, and Thomas Nienow; great-grandchildren, Ally Warble, Jack Warble, John Warble, Aaron Warble, Owen Bubalo, Wesley Bubalo, Leah Bubalo, Clark Nienow, Milo Nienow and Wylder Nienow; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to Jack, Martha was preceded in death by her parents.
Martha graduated in 1947 from Shelbyville High School, and received a degree in interior design from the Chicago School of Interior Design in 1949.
She was a very active member of the Morristown United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Martha was also a member of the Shelby County Historical Society, where she was an instrumental and founding member of the Grover Museum, helped create the “Streets of Old Shelby” display and in the 1960’s helped start the Pioneer Craft Fair. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and served on the board of directors.
She was a Girl Scout leader for over 20 years, and a member of Tri Kappa Sorority.
A gathering of friends will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Morristown United Methodist Church, 221 S. Washington Street in Morristown.
A memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Rev. Chris Dourson officiating.
Inurnment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown at a later date.
