Martha L. Headlee, 94, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, May 15, 2009 at Major Hospital.
Born September 1, 1914 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Adam G. and Susan (Stockinger) Roell. She married Lowell G. Headlee on June 12, 1955, and he preceded her in deth on August 21, 1973.
She is survived by step-son, Jack (wife, Betty) Headlee of Shelbyville and step-daughter, Nancy (husband, Jim) Huber of Shelbyville; sister, Gertrude Nickles of Shelbyville; several step-grandchildren, step-greatgrandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; step-daughter, Norma Benefiel; six brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Headlee was a lifelong resident of Shelby County.
She was a homemaker and previously worked at ElanJay Garment Factory for 11 years and Sears and Roebuck for 13 years, both in Shelbyville.
Mrs. Headlee was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Ann's Altar Society and St. Joe's Senior Citizen Club.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 125 E. Broadway St., Shelbyville, with Father Chris Craig officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
